Motion Portfolio
Your challenge in this assignment is to develop a portfolio of images that reflects, exploits, interprets, and explores the concept of movement or motion. In doing so, you must consider more than the simple act of movement on the subject's part. Composition, lighting, point of view, and technical issues of shutter speed and film speed will all play a very important role in producing imagery that is visually compelling.
Recognize the profound difference between taking a photograph of something that happens to be moving, and choreographing a dynamic image that technically and artistically speaks to the theme. In producing this portfolio, show that you have explored all four of the following approaches through a contact print:
Your images can be shot on film or using a digital SLR camera. If your final print is digital, allow time to edit and print in the photo lab. Color or black-and-white is acceptable. Consider some of the following when shooting:
